Flight Data
REISER captures and structures flight data for helicopters and fixed wing aircraft, for research purposes and for the development of high-quality flight models. The data is recorded for different flight states, scenarios and maneuvers, so that the behavior of each aircraft in the relevant flight phases is reproduced in detail and can be traced. It creates a robust basis for simulation applications, flight models and further technical analysis.

Overview
The data basis for robust models
Flight Data is an end-to-end service for capturing, processing and delivering flight data for helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. The data describes the actual flight behavior of the aircraft and can be used as a data set, as technical documentation or as the basis for a simulation-ready flight model. Training, research and engineering teams therefore work from a consistent data basis for the further development and validation of their application.
The challenge
Robust simulation models require flight states and flight behavior to be captured completely and traceably across the relevant flight phases. At the same time, aircraft, measurement requirements and later purposes differ from project to project. Suitable instrumentation, coordinated test flights and structured processing of the measurement data are therefore decisive for the quality of the resulting data set or flight model.
The solution
REISER runs the process as one continuous service, from project-specific flight test instrumentation through the test flights to data processing, validation and handover. At the start of the project we clarify whether the customer provides a suitable aircraft and a pilot or whether REISER organizes these services. Once the instrumentation is installed, REISER can also support or apply for the required STC approval where needed.

The system in detail
From instrumentation to handover, four steps make up the complete flight data process.
1
Instrumentation
REISER plans and installs project-specific flight test instrumentation for helicopters or fixed wing aircraft. The choice of measured parameters depends on the aircraft, the required data quality and the later purpose.
Project-specific measurement equipment
Installation in an aircraft provided by the customer or organized by REISER
STC support where required
2
Test flights
In coordinated test flights, REISER captures the relevant flight states and flight phases. Depending on the project, REISER can organize the aircraft and the pilot.
Planning and execution of project-specific test flights
Capture of the actual flight behavior
Designed for training, research and engineering
3
Data processing
The measurement data is processed, checked and documented. The result is a consistent data set as the basis for technical analysis and the development of Flight Dynamic Models.
Data preparation and validation
Quality assurance and documentation
Processing to project-specific requirements
4
Handover & model path
The results are handed over as a processed data package or developed further into a simulation-ready Flight Dynamic Model. Which route makes sense depends on the planned application and the level of detail required.
Handover of the flight data as a data set
Development of detailed Flight Dynamic Models
Basis for simulation and FFS applications

FAQ
Typical questions about Flight Data, from aircraft types to data requirements.
Is the solution available for our platform?
Flight Data can be planned on a project basis for helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. Feasibility in a specific case depends on the aircraft, the required measured parameters, the test flight conditions and the later purpose.
Can REISER provide the aircraft and the pilot?
At the start of the project we clarify whether the customer provides an aircraft and a pilot or whether REISER organizes these services. The exact arrangement is agreed on a project basis.
What data is needed for implementation?
The data required depends on the platform, the relevant flight phases, the required model fidelity, the later simulation or engineering use and any qualification target. These requirements are defined together before instrumentation begins.
Does REISER support the required STC approval?
If an STC approval is required to install the instrumentation, REISER can include the application and its processing in the project. The exact scope of approval is assessed for the aircraft in question.
Are the results delivered as a data set or as a flight model?
Both are possible. The flight data can be handed over as a processed data package or developed further into a detailed Flight Dynamic Model. Which form makes sense for the project depends on the planned application.
Are the Flight Dynamic Models suitable for Level D applications?
REISER develops Flight Dynamic Models for high-quality simulation applications. Whether a specific model can be used for a Level D qualification depends on the data scope, the validation, the specific platform and the overall system.
