Overview

Driver training without interrupting rail operations

The Train Control Console creates a protected space for regular, true-to-life train driver training. The driver's desk, controls and software are adapted to the vehicle class and equipment of the operator, for safety training, procedures and energy-efficient driving.

The challenge

Train crews have to train regularly without interrupting ongoing rail operations. At the same time, training content has to be adaptable to different vehicle classes, equipment levels and operating conditions, at a fixed site or mobile across several locations.

The solution

REISER combines class-specific hardware with an adaptable simulation environment. Mobile and fixed Train Control Consoles enable repeatable training for driving, safety and efficiency tasks. The stationary version can additionally be planned for a motion platform.

FAQ

Typical questions about the Train Control Consoles, from vehicle class to integration.

Is the Train Control Console available for our vehicle class?

REISER develops the driver's desk simulation console specifically for each vehicle class. The driver's desk, controls, indications and simulation scope are adapted to the vehicle, the equipment and the training objective of the operator.

Is the solution available as a mobile or a permanently installed version?

Both are possible. The mobile Train Control Console is designed for transport and changing training locations. The fixed version is permanently installed in a training center and can be prepared for a motion platform.

Can the console be integrated into existing training infrastructure?

Yes. Integration is planned around the existing rooms, interfaces, training processes and, where applicable, motion components. The specific system design is defined on a project basis.

Which training content can be covered?

The console supports class-specific driver training as well as safety and procedures training. Energy-efficient driving and recurrent training content can also be part of the solution.

What data is needed for the implementation?

That depends on the vehicle class, the equipment, the training scope and the chosen version. Typically, information on the driver's desk, controls, indications, vehicle behavior, procedures and existing interfaces is required. REISER agrees the data requirement with the operator at the start of the project.
