Flight behavior as a simulation-ready model
OEM-independent flight models for simulators. Flight Dynamic Models reproduce the dynamic behavior of a helicopter in simulation. They combine flight behavior, subsystems and avionics into one model that can be used in Full Flight Simulators and Flight Training Devices.
The challenge
OEM flight models are often expensive and not always available in the form required. Simulator manufacturers and system integrators therefore need models that fit the aircraft, the existing system architecture and the planned qualification target.
The solution
REISER develops OEM-independent Flight Dynamic Models including the required subsystems and avionics models. The models are based on our own data and can be integrated into existing or new simulator solutions on a project-specific basis.

Interfaces and integration
The FDM can be connected to visual and out-of-the-window systems, control loading, motion, cueing, avionics and the Instructor Operating Station. The exact form depends on the interfaces and requirements of the target platform.

Validation and qualification
Validation is based on suitable references, including flight test data, the Rotorcraft Flight Manual and further technical aircraft documentation. The evidence for the intended scope of qualification is matched to the model and the configuration of the overall system.

Are the Flight Dynamic Models OEM-independent?
Yes. REISER develops OEM-independent Flight Dynamic Models and adapts them to the requirements of the respective simulator platform and system architecture.
Can the Flight Dynamic Models be qualified up to FFS Level D?
The Flight Dynamic Models can be part of an overall system that is qualifiable up to FFS Level D. The qualification actually achievable depends on the data scope, the model, the simulator platform, the overall system configuration and the applicable qualification requirements.
Which systems are modeled besides flight mechanics?
Depending on the configuration, the engine, hydraulics, electrical system, fuel, lighting, navigation, sound, environmental conditions and avionics can be included, among others. The exact scope is defined on the basis of the required training and qualification profile.
Which avionics are simulated?
The avionics are implemented type-specifically. For the H145 D3, Helionix functions, multi-function displays, HTAWS, ACAS, Synthetic Vision and EuroNav 7 can be part of the simulation, among others. Which functions are integrated depends on the agreed configuration.
Can the Flight Dynamic Models be integrated into existing simulators?
Yes. Integration is planned on the basis of the existing interfaces, the simulator architecture and the connected systems. These can include the cockpit, control loading, visuals, motion, cueing and avionics.
What data is needed for development?
The data required depends on the type, the model fidelity, the scope of training and the qualification target. Depending on the project, REISER can use its own data and flight test data or include customer data in development and validation.
Does REISER also develop customer-specific models?
Yes. Existing model variants can be adapted to the requirements of the target platform. For new or differing configurations, the effort, data requirements, interfaces and development scope are assessed within the project.
