Our colleague John Eshagh reports on a very special training course in California:

“In my job as a flight simulation engineer I work on recording and validating data from flight campaigns that is used to certify our flight simulators. This reference data is the basis for modelling the flight behaviour of our simulators realistically.

To keep improving our products and to enable training that is as realistic as possible for the demanding work of pilots, I attended the two-week course ‘Introduction to Rotary Wing Performance and Flying Qualities Flight Testing’ at the National Test Pilot School (NTPS) in Mojave, California.

The course combines the theory of flight test techniques with hands-on exercises, both in the simulator and in a real helicopter. Flying along in the helicopter was a very special experience for me, because I usually fly it from the simulator with my feet firmly on the ground.”

The passion our people bring to their daily work makes us proud, and we are glad to be able to offer them development opportunities like this.
